Bazaruto Archipelago’s second largest island is also home to Africa’s only dugong population, helping to reach marine conservation status. That means it also has limited construction and very few hotels, so the island’s natural beauty has remained virtually untouched for decades. If you’re lucky enough to snag a rare room you’ll be treated to miles of wavy sand dunes, numerous bird species and a two-mile long coral reef practically to yourself.
