4 Beach Destinations That Won’t Break The Bank

We all need to get away once in a while. That means even those of us who can’t fork out the dough to go to some all inclusive resort that is full of high expectations and sorrowful regrets. Or sometimes the destinations are cheap; but actually getting there costs so much you’ll leave yourself thinking you could have bought a new TV, Blu-Ray player, and the latest copy of Lost without the hassle of airports and customs.

But the good beach towns do exist; and they actually aren’t of the far off or exotic variety. These spots are within affordable flight distance from the USA; and won’t extract your whole bank savings once you get there. So if you are looking to get away for some sun and surf, maybe give one of these places a shot.

Ucluelet, British Columbia, Canada

Wild Pacific Trail, Ucluelet, BC

You might have heard of Tofino and Pacific Rim National Park on the west coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia. It’s one of those places that will leave you breathless. Old growth cedar and fir forests extend straight into the blue-green ocean, with a few dozen miles of white sandy beach put in between because, well who doesn’t like an endless beach? Along with Tofino’s growth in popularity, the prices jumped up with it. Luckily many tourists still don’t know about Tofino’s southern neighbor, Ucluelet—a much more local vibe with just as many amazing sights to see. If you are from the Northwest, it’s just a hop skip and a jump, and the exchange rate to the Canadian dollar goes far these days.
