HOW TO APPLY YOUR SUNSCREEN SPRAY CORRECTLY

Spray-on sunscreen is extremely easy to apply once you’ve mastered the application guidelines. But too often, people either don't use enough or don’t do a sufficient job of rubbing in the product, leading to an inadequate level of protection.

When using your Panama Jack sunscreen spray, be sure that you are doing two important things. First, make sure you're getting close enough to your skin (four to six inches) and that you're spraying for a long enough time. Secondly, it will take approximately an ounce of sunscreen to get complete coverage for the body of an adult, but this can be hard to measure accurately. In order to get the same sun protection factor (SPF) as a sunscreen lotion with a sunscreen spray, experts say that you need to spray each section of your body for up to six seconds.

One rule of thumb for ensuring you’ve sprayed enough is to spray your sunscreen until your skin glistens. Sunscreen spray needs to be applied like spray paint, not like perfume. If you can’t see it, it’s simply not there and it won’t be able to give you the protection you need. People often make the mistake of spraying sunscreen in the general vicinity of their skin without focusing the liquid on each area that needs protection from the sun.

Once your skin is glistening and you feel that you have sprayed a generous amount on the section of your body that you are targeting, take the time to rub it in thoroughly, so that you are able to clearly see that the sunscreen has covered all the areas of your body that will be exposed to the sun.

While you can spray sunscreen directly on your body, you shouldn’t do this on your face. Instead, spray the sunscreen on your hands and then rub it evenly onto your face.

Just like you’d do with other types of sunscreen, you should apply your spray at least 15 minutes before heading out the door to allow the sunscreen time to absorb into your skin completely, and you need to reapply at least every two hours. When you are swimming, sweating in the hot sun, and toweling off every time you get in and out of the water, your sunscreen will wear off more rapidly. For maximum sun safety, reapply after 80 minutes of intensive activity or time in the water and immediately after towel drying.

WHY CHOOSE A SUNSCREEN SPRAY?

Panama Jack SPF sunscreen spray is lightweight, non-greasy, and made with skin-nourishing ingredients. But more importantly, it can go a long way in protecting your skin from harmful UV rays.

There are two types of rays from the sun that can damage our skin in completely different ways. UVB rays are the sun’s rays that are responsible for giving us painful sunburns and most forms of skin cancer over time. UVA rays are the sun’s rays that lead to the unwanted early aging of our skin. A Broad Spectrum SPF sunscreen spray works to protect you against both.

To minimize the chance of sunburn, our traditional sunscreen sprays (when applied correctly) absorb into the skin. Then, when you’re exposed to the sun, the spray absorbs UV rays before they can penetrate your skin, turning them into heat and releasing them from the body. Similarly, our mineral sunscreen sprays sit on the surface of the skin, both absorbing and reflecting UV rays.

In addition to protecting you from painful sunburns, daily use of a Broad Spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15 (SPF 30 if you’ll be outdoors) can help minimize the skin damage that builds up over time. Severe and frequent sunburns can weaken the skin and increase your risk of melanoma. And, even if you do not get sunburned, sun damage from UVA rays accumulates and can increase your risk of melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and other forms of skin cancer. This is why an SPF sunscreen spray is a critical component of your daily skin care routine.
